
The College of Nursing, KHINAMS, proudly celebrated International Nurses Day 2026 on May 19, 2026, under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives” The event served as a meaningful tribute to the nursing profession, honouring the enduring legacy of Florence Nightingale and reaffirming the pivotal role of nurses in healthcare delivery.
The event was graced by Maj Gen Ijaz Ahmad, DG Administration, NUMS, as the Chief Guest. The distinguished dignitaries included Brig Ambreen, COO KHINAMS; Ms. Sumaira Nasir, Principal, College of Nursing; Dr. Aisha Mohyuddin, Dean MDS; along with Directors, faculty members, and students of Semester I and Semester III
The ceremony featured a solemn lamp-lighting and oath-taking ceremony by nursing students, symbolizing the time-honoured commitment to compassionate and ethical patient care. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, whose ideals continue to inspire generations of nursing professionals.
Prior to the main celebration, a faculty development workshop on “MCQs Construction” was conducted by the nursing faculty. Faculty members from both College of Nursing, KHINAMS, and AFPGMI participated, fostering academic collaboration and strengthening assessment competencies to enhance the quality of nursing education.
The event was a resounding success, blending professional development with ceremonial recognition. It reinforced the institution’s dedication to nurturing skilled, value-driven nursing professionals and celebrating the indispensable contribution of nurses to society.
