Celebration of Youm-e-Tashakkur at NUMS

The Federal Government of Pakistan declared 16 May 2025 as Youm-e-Tashakkur to honor the unwavering bravery, immense sacrifices, and exceptional performance of the Pakistan Armed Forces during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. This day serves as a solemn tribute to the martyrs and a reaffirmation of the nation's unity, resilience, and defense capabilities.

The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) proudly observed Youm-e-Tashakkur with hearts filled with gratitude and unyielding pride. The university paid homage to the valiant Armed Forces and the resilient people of Pakistan, who together achieved a historic victory in the defense of the motherland.

The Army, Air Force, and Naval Chiefs led their respective forces with extraordinary courage and vision, inspiring their troops to combat the enemy with unmatched valor. NUMS stands in solidarity with our Armed Forces, the protectors of our sovereignty, the pride of our nation, and the guardians of our future.

This day is not merely a celebration of triumph in Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos but a solemn remembrance of our Shuhada, the brave souls who laid down their lives so that the nation may thrive in peace. Their legacy continues to echo through the spirit of Pakistan, and new chapters of courage have been written by the recent martyrs who embraced shahadat in the line of duty.

The commemorative ceremony at NUMS began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by flag hoisting and the National Anthem. Special prayers were offered to honor the martyrs and pray for the country's peace, prosperity, and success.

The event was attended by directors, deans, faculty members, staff, and many students, who all gathered to express their collective gratitude. The ceremony concluded with distributing sweets among the participants as a gesture of joy and national pride.
