
The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) has demonstrated remarkable progress in Times Higher Education - Impact Ranking 2025. NUMS has been ranked among top 401-600 universities worldwide, a significant rise from last year’s position among the top 601-800. This progress is notable, considering the rankings-2025 included 2,318 up from 1,963 in 2024.
Considering that NUMS is only in its third year of participating in global rankings, it has achieved a strong standing and shown steady progress. NUMS has also enhanced its overall score; achieving 71.5 out of 100 this year, compared to 68.2 last year, reflecting its continuous institutional improvement and unwavering commitment to excellence.
One of NUMS's strongest performances is in SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, where it is ranked at 64th position in world wide, improving 4 positions from last year’s 68th position. This highlights the university’s growing global impact in the health sector.
NUMS also appeared for the first time in rankings for SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 14 (Life Below Water), indicating its growing engagement with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
In the context of Pakistan, NUMS is ranked 4th out of 120 Pakistani universities in 2025 as against 14th out of 89 universities in 2024. Also NUMS maintained its 1st position among the Pakistani Medical Universities as last year.
These achievements underscore NUMS’ rising academic standing and its dedication to excellence, innovation, and sustainability.
