During 2023, three-day workshops were conducted on “Curriculum Planning & Implementation” from 05 July 2023 to 09 August 2023 at the NUMS PWD campus. Remarkably, the said workshops trained 70 NUMS faculty members from NUMS Department of Public Health (NDPH), NUMS Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (NDND), NUMS Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences (NDSBS), NUMS Department of Psychology (NDP), and NUMS Department of Biological Sciences (NDBS) in 2023 alone.
On the other hand, NUMS offered a six-month Certified University Management Training Program (UMTP Batch-II) from August 2021 to January 2022 for the induction of the best available young talent in NUMS. The six-month training program consisted of two phases: extensive on-site (academic) training for the first three months and on-the-job training through working in different directorates over three months.
Initially, NUMS inducted 27 eligible candidates as UMT Officers (UMTOs). However, only 13 UMTOs effectively completed the two-year training program and one left NUMS. After thoroughly evaluating their 24-month job performance, the employment of 12 successful young officers has been further extended so they can continue rendering their praiseworthy services at NUMS.
In light of the above, a Certificate Award Ceremony was meticulously planned and organized by the NUMS Center for Lifelong Learning (NCL) on Tuesday, 07 November 2023, at NUMS PWD Campus for the faculty of NUMS Department of Health Professions Education (NDHPE) for undertaking the Faculty Development Program (2023) and UMTP (Batch-II) for completing their training program at NUMS with flying colors.
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics) – Maj Gen Farrukh Saeed, HI (M), (Retd) – spared his precious time out of his busy schedule and graced the memorable event as Chief Guest. He expressed his pleasure in acknowledging the splendid efforts by NDHPE regarding their strife for NUMS Faculty Development and the NCL Team for skillfully organizing such essential events. Also, he encouraged the young officers receiving the training completion certificates by declaring that NUMS considers them its promising future.
Keeping the determined efforts of NDHPE faculty accomplishments for NUMS faculty development and Team NCL for making the arrangements amicably, both the teams were recognized, and certificates were awarded to NDHPE Facilitators and NCL Organizers as a token of acknowledgment and encouragement to intrinsically motivate them to strive for this noble cause in future as well. Last but certainly not least, the worthy chief guest gave away Training Completion Certificates to 12 successful young officers of UMTP (Batch-II).
