During the current Covid-19 Pandemic, Quality Assurance Directorate (QAD) NUMS remains concerned to continue the learning activities for the faculty at Constituent Institutions and keep them abreast with the HEC Internal & External Quality Assurance requirements like SAR, UPR, IPE and Program review.
In this regard, QAD NUMS organized a Webinar chaired by Pro VC (Academics), Maj Gen Saleem Ahmad Khan, HI (M) (Retd) at VC’s Secretariat, NUMS on November 25, 2020. All the HODs, Program Team Members, Heads of LQECs and focal persons of constituent colleges were invited to join this session.
The Session started with opening remarks of Pro VC (Academics) after recitation of Holy Quran in which he briefly emphasized on the importance of Quality Assurance (QA) and the related activities. After the opening remarks, Director Quality Assurance, Air Cdre Muhammad Ismail, SI (M), (Retd) gave a detailed presentation on the concept of Quality Assurance, QA in the world, QA Agencies, Quality Assurance as a global challenge and forecast of the activities by NUMS QEC to ensure Institutional and Academic Quality at NUMS Institutions. He briefly explained the activities such as, HEC/Internal Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE), HEC/Internal Program Review (PR), preparation of Yearly Progress Reporting (YPR), Self-Appraisal Report (SAR-NAF) and Self-Assessment Report (SAR- HEC) for assuring and enhancing Quality at NUMS Institutions.
Provost (Acad, QA & RD), Prof Dr Syed Mehmood Raza added that plagiarism should be clearly explained with strict compliance of NUMS Anti Plagiarism Policy by NUMS faculty, researchers and students.
After question and answer activity, Pro VC Academics, concluded the session by thanking the participants and appreciating the efforts of QAD and directing all the participants to cooperate with QAD NUMS, to meet the HEC requirements and enhance the quality of education at NUMS.
