On the 3rd of May 2024, the Convener and students of the NUMS Art & Media Society (NAMS), accompanied by high-achieving students from various departments of NUMS, convened at the NUMS Research Facilitation Center (NRFC), located at the NUMS Sectt, for a gathering with Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Major General Muhammad Salman Ashraf, HI(M), SI(M), (Retd). The purpose of the event was to acknowledge and commend the artistic and other non-academic talents, accomplishments, and future aspirations of the students. Brig. Muhammad Naveed Khan (Retd.), Director of Administration (PWD Campus), Brig. Muhammad Asif Chattha (Retd.), The director of student affairs and Dr. Shumaila Naz, assistant professor at DBS and convener of NAMS, oversaw the event coordination. Dr. Omar Zafar Jhagra, Director of AHI, also graced the occasion with his presence.
The gathering began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the recognition of high-achieving students. Among them, Zahra Rauf, an alumna of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program – Pakistan (UGRAD), facilitated by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), Areeba Gul, a principal candidate of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program – Pakistan, and Aimen Adnan, proprietor of the startup "Shop Green," shared their tales of success and accomplishments. The event also featured a diverse range of artwork, including paintings, sketches, videography, calligraphy, digital art, and logo designs. Members of the NAMS cabinet, including Hamna Asif, Sana Batool, and Nimra Tahir, along with other society members, presented their creative projects and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Furthermore, the students' engagements and successes in national competitions were a testament to their unwavering dedication and competitive spirit. They showcased their talents and skills in various fields, including the Art Contest at Pakistan Peace Festival, Poster Contest at the National Counter Terrorism Authority, video competition at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and the National Poster Competition at PCRWR. Their achievements not only brought glory to NUMS but also instilled a sense of pride in all those present.
Major General Muhammad Salman Ashraf, HI(M), SI(M), (Retd), and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) NUMS, in a gesture of appreciation and encouragement, presented certificates of excellence to all participants in recognition of their hard work and dedication, motivating them to continue excelling in their endeavors.
