Emergency Preparedness Pakistan (EPP)

Continuing its commitment to promoting student-led innovation and community awareness, a project presentation of Emergency Preparedness Pakistan (EPP) was conducted at the KHINAMS Auditorium on May 20, 2026. The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Brig Dr Ambreen Sohail (Retd.), Principal of AHS, along with Dr Ghazal Farrukh, Alisha Shaukat, and Burhan Uddin. The primary purpose of the event was to explain the vision, agenda, and future objectives of the project to the Principal of AHS and all the students, while also recognizing the efforts of cabinet members through the distribution of certificates and official team cards.

The initiative was founded and presented by Syed Jawad Ali, a 6th-semester BS Emergency and Clinical Medicine student at the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS). Established in May 2025, Emergency Preparedness Pakistan (EPP) is a dynamic youth-led initiative aimed at promoting emergency awareness, lifesaving education, and practical preparedness skills among students and communities. Over the past year, Jawad and his team have actively worked on the project through online and offline awareness sessions, training workshops, and collaborations with organizations including Rescue 1122, Pakistan Youth Parliament, and several welfare organizations to strengthen emergency response education across Pakistan.

The initiative is supported by a dedicated core cabinet comprising Jaisha Musharaf, Mohsin Ali Hamdani, Aleena Javed, and Mahnoor Fatima, Tayyaba Ali, Faryal Khalid and Eesha Riaz who have played a significant role in expanding the initiative’s outreach and impact. Since its establishment, EPP has conducted sessions on Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, first aid, disaster management, emergency decision-making, blood and bone emergency care, and mental health awareness. Among its ongoing projects is Psychoeducation, focusing on promoting awareness and understanding of psychological well-being within communities.

Among the major future goals of EPP is the publication of Pakistan’s first-ever book on emergency preparedness, expected to be released soon as part of the organization’s mission to advance emergency education nationwide. The initiative also plans to introduce research projects, fellowship programs, podcasts, documentaries, and the National Emergency Youth Summit, reinforcing its vision of becoming a leading national platform for emergency preparedness, healthcare awareness, and youth leadership.

The successful presentation fostered an engaging and informative environment, inspiring students to actively participate in healthcare awareness, emergency response education, and community service. The event effectively highlighted the significance of youth-led initiatives in creating meaningful social impact and promoting a culture of preparedness and public well-being.
