CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY FOR UNAI’S MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM – CLASS OF 2023: AN EVENT ORGANIZED BY NCL

The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) has been a United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) member since January 2020. Every year, UNAI invites applications for the 'Millennium Fellowship Program,' a globally recognized initiative, from students from all universities worldwide to join an extraordinary community of young leaders for advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their respective communities.

The UNAI's Millennium Fellowship is a semester-long (August – November 2023) on-campus leadership development program to take the social impact to the next level through access to world-class training, connections, and recognition.

In January 2023, NUMS Quality Assurance Dte (Focal Dte for UNAI) took the initiative to share the fellowship invitation with all NUMS academic departments and constituent institutions. This was done to encourage their students to apply for the said program and create an impact on this international forum.

In the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2023, 4000+ Millennium Fellows were selected out of 44000+ applicants from around the globe and 260+ campuses (out of 3000+ campuses) from 38 countries. Two hundred fifty students from 14 universities in Pakistan were selected for the fellowship. It is a great privilege for NUMS that 14 of its students were selected for the Millennium Fellowship Program - Class of 2023; 12 as Millennium Fellows and 02 (one male and one female) as Campus Directors to lead the group.

Given the above, a Certificate Award Ceremony was carefully organized by the NUMS Center for Lifelong Learning (NCL) on Tuesday, 07 May 2024, at NUMS PWD Campus to award UNAI's 'Completion Certificates' to the 14 successful NUMS Millennium Fellows (Class of 2023), and to present 'Certificates of Contribution' to the six mentors of community projects completed by the certificate winning students.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics) – Maj Gen Farrukh Saeed, HI (M), (Retd) –  who graced the event as the esteemed Chief Guest and awarded the certificates to the recipients. His presence and support were invaluable. We also appreciate the presence of our esteemed Deans, Directors, Departmental HoDs, Project Mentors/Guides, Organizers, and Selected Millennium Fellows (Students) of NUMS, whose contributions make events like these possible.
