This program has been conceived in light of the framework of the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan for the Master of Science in Bioinformatics program. The degree program is designed to provide our post graduates (PGs) an opportunity to acquire advanced bioinformatics knowledge that is required for a researcher to interpret and decipher the information embedded in complex biological processes. We envision that our program will provide a research-based educational platform for researchers where they will be provided state of the art research facilities and opportunities to meet the research standards nationally as well as internationally.
The curriculum designed for Master of Science in Bioinformatics will prepare master students to cope with the issues for wide spectrum of areas including genomics, transcriptomics, pharmaceutics, structural biology, computer aided drug designing and biotechnological industries. The post graduates (PGs) will play a vital role in designing novel diagnostics and targeted research strategies which will ultimately benefit the society. The main benefit of this program is to save time and cost of future researcher by predicting the outcome of their research as well as helping them in analysis of big data. Hence, this program will make a bridge between “in silico” and “in vitro” scientists to deal with future challenges in the field of biology and medicine.
To train the next generation of professionals to gain advanced knowledge in the field of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology that is required to design and implement novel approaches to solve the unsolved puzzles in life sciences.
This program will enable students to:
This Master of Science program extends over a period of 2 years/4 semesters of study and research.
This program aims to prepare students with necessary knowledge, skill, and aptitude to:
