Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH)

Introduction:

The importance of Public Health is many times more in the 21st century compared to the previous years. The threats of new diseases, the ease of their transmission to populations around the world, bioterrorism, epidemic of obesity, maternal, child health, environmental and occupational impacts on health of the populations. The MSPH program curriculum is designed to give an in-depth education in Public Health problems. This program aims produce leaders and practitioners who will promote health and reduce health disparities in the community and develop and advocate policies that enable urban, minority and underserved populations to attain optimal health.

The Master in Public Health (MSPH is a twenty four months postgraduate degree programme. It is designed to prepare students to address the broad vision of Public Health which is defined as: Enhancing Health in Human Population(s) through organized community effort, utilizing Education, Research and Community Services.

Eligibility Criteria:

Sixteen years of education in relevant field and one of the following qualifications or an equivalent degree from HEC recognized university.

  • MBBS/MD/BDS
  • BS Nursing (4-year program)
  • BS AHS
  • Pharm-D/DPT/DVM
  • Or any equivalent degree
  • One-year full time work experience in the public/ private healthcare setting community relevant field.
  • NUMS entry test with minimum 50% of cumulative score
  • NUMS interview
