To prepare the next generation of leaders in research, academia and industry through a focused, high-quality molecular biology and genetics undergraduate program, with an emphasis on research relevant to the needs of our population.
This program has been conceived in light of the framework of the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan for BS programs. The degree program is designed to provide our graduates with a sound basis and conceptual understanding of the major theories and disciplines of biology, including foundations of cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, and molecular biology. This program will provide flexibility to our students to be able to pursue careers in various areas of research and academia including government and private R&D organizations, colleges and universities. Additionally, our graduates may venture into industries like diagnostics, therapeutics, forensics and biotech industry. Several courses related to philosophy, logic and social sciences have also been included in this program to build our students’ capacity to excel in a multi-disciplinary world. A hands-on research project in their final semester will give the students an opportunity to utilize the acquired lab-based skills to conduct research.
