MBBS

The five-year MBBS programme, accredited by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC), is a blend of biomedical and clinical sciences, which are traditionally required by medical graduates to meet the responsibilities of providing preventive as well as curative healthcare.

Clinical training is important at the respective departments of affiliated teaching hospitals: Military Hospital (MH), Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) including Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedic Surgery, Radiotherapy, Urology, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery, Radiology, Dermatology, Tuberculosis and Chest diseases, Cardiology, Neurology and Paediatric Surgery.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

a. Weightage Formula

           National MDCAT                           50%

            NUMS Entry Test                         25%

            F.Sc. Pre-Medical/HSSC/Eq.       25%

b. Passing National MDCAT with 65% marks shall be mandatory for admission in NUMS colleges as per PMC regulations 2021.

c. Obtained a HSSC/FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan having obtained more than sixty-five percent (65%) marks therein, or a higher percentage as may be notified by the Medical and Dental Council.

d. Qualifying psychological test is mandatory, however merit will be based on subject based MCQs.

  Weightage Formula for Admission

  • F.Sc (Pre-medical) HSSC/ Equivalent (50%)
  • Entrance Test (50%)

  For Admission on Open Merit Seats

  • Minimum 70% marks, in HSSC or F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination having minimum twelve years of education.
  • Minimum 60% marks, in entrance test.
  • Minimum 70% Aggregate – MBBS.
  • All Pakistani Nationals including citizens of AJK/ GB.

  For Admission on Foreign/Dual National/Overseas Quota Seats

 

  • Foreign national/ dual national/ overseas (being a Pakistani citizen permanently resident in a foreign country) Pakistani student, and who has studied and passed HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan and is a resident of a foreign country at the time of applying for admission and possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect having completed last two years of schooling from abroad.
  • SAT-II Exam with minimum 550 marks each in biology, chemistry and either physics or mathematics or a foreign MCAT with minimum score of 500/528. 
  • Equivalence by IBCC (in case of foreign qualification).
  • Minimum 70% marks, in HSSC or F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination having minimum twelve years of education.
  • Minimum 70% Aggregate – MBBS.
