No Poverty

Poverty level counts for 10% of the world’s population having no access to basic needs including food, health, education, access to clean water and sanitation causing poorer people at high risk to lack sustainability. SDG-1 aims to end poverty in all its manifestations through provision of equal opportunities to all for quality education and social protection for vulnerable community which is mandatory for sustainable growth.

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), as an employers and economic hubs, has an important role to play to address and reduce the poverty through helping students from low-income families and ultimately making an impact at community level to minimize the poverty through various initiatives. It also aims to provide access to basic services to ensure deprived students get equal rights to educational resources, access to essential services, and appropriate new technologies.

NUMS is offering various types of scholarships for its deserving students to continuously support them till completion of their academic programs. NUMS is also making efforts to promote community work at educational institutes locally and at community level to address this goal through involvement of its students and faculty.
