Scope of Collaboration:

 The primary objectives outlined in this DoU are as follows:

  • Commence research to understand the genetic landscape of rare genetic disorders in Pakistan.
  • Offer specialized genetic counseling services to patients at TEMAR Labs.
  • Establish internship and professional training programs to acquaint students with international-standard working environments.
  • Collaborate on implementing advanced diagnostic techniques and prioritizing personalized/precision medicine.
  • Jointly seek grants to back innovative research projects in diagnostics.
  • Conduct sessions to improve professionals' and students' knowledge and skills in the latest diagnostic techniques.
  • Explore further areas of mutual interest for collaboration within the healthcare domain.

The signing ceremony for this Document of Understanding (DoU) occurred at NRFC, NUMS Sectt Rawalpindi, with distinguished individuals in attendance. These individuals included Maj. General Farrukh Saeed, HI (M), (Retd), Pro Vice-Chancellor Academics NUMS; Dr. Bilal Hussain Sethi, CEO TEMAR Diagnostics; Brig. Azhar Shams, SI(M), Retd., Registrar NUMS; Dr. Shahid Waseem, Director ORIC; Mr. Aqeel Yunus, Assistant Director ORIC (Research & Support); and Mr. Zahoor Muhammad Khan, Assistant Director ORIC (Industrial Linkages) from NUMS.

NUMS and TEMAR Diagnostics have partnered to advance healthcare research and development, improve diagnostic capabilities, understand genetic disorders, and foster innovation in healthcare. The signing of the Document of Understanding (DoU) represents a significant milestone in their partnership, as they aim to meaningfully contribute to healthcare advancement globally.

Scope of Collaboration:

 The primary objectives of this DoU are to:

 

  • Conduct clinical trials and related research activities in Pakistan.
  • Generate internship/professional training opportunities for students to familiarize themselves with a state-of-the-art working environment that meets international standards.
  • Collaborate in industry-driven research projects having the potential for commercialization.
  • Mutually work on implementing modern diagnostic techniques and strive for pioneering personalized/precision medicine.
  • Apply for mutual grants to fund innovative projects.
  • Emphasize and develop innovative wound healing techniques.
  • Hosting and joint venturing seminars/conferences on diabetes awareness and management with local and international partners.
  • Capacity-building sessions on the latest diagnostic techniques, markers, and genetic changes occur due to diabetes.

Purpose of Collaboration::

The purpose of this DoU is to create and establish a formal mutually beneficial working relationship between Qarshi Research International (Pvt.) Ltd and NUMS.

Scope of Collaboration:

  • To promote research and development by collaborating in the following areas;
  • Herbal products developments
  • Quality control of herbal products
  • Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs),
  • Chemical Marker Identification and Qualification in plant Materials and Qarshi Products,
  • Plant cell culturing
  • Clinical trials of Qarshi products
  • Conduct research at Qarshi and sharing of expertise and resources with each other.

MoU signed: October 20, 2022 in reference to achieving SDG -17 & SDG -3.

Scope of Collaboration:

 Getz Pharma will assist NUMS in identifying and connecting with a partner in China who has experience in manufacturing of Bio-Similar Products and also work in collaboration with universities. 


MoU signed: September 28, 2022 in reference to achieving SDG -17, SDG -5 & SDG - 10.

Scope of Collaboration:

  1.  Active engagement of NUMS students, faculty and staff in training and workshops organized by Mehergarh.
  2.  Internship opportunities to the NUMS students.
  3. To work on Implementation of ‘Protection of Women at Workplace Act 2010’ and ‘HEC Policy on Protection of Against Sexual Harassment at HEIs 2020’ through trainings, awareness sessions and student community projects.

Scope of Collaboration:

 IHS shall provide following to the students of Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) NUMS:

  1. The short duration certificate courses; and
  2. Internship opportunities.

Scope of Collaboration:

  1.  To start ‘Khud ko Pechaano Program’ for Youth Engagement.
  2.  To train 20 Master Trainers for creating social awareness on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
  3.  To develop skillset to identify gender-based violence and its mitigation strategies.
