History

Remount Department was established in Bengal in 1779. Later on Military Farms Department was established in 1880. Army Veterinary Corps was established in 1920. In 1946, Army Remount Department & Army Veterinary Corps amalgamated to form Remount & Veterinary Corps (RVC). In 1948, Mil Farm Dept was fused with Remount and Veterinary Corps to form RV&FC.
