Attention Students and Faculty

Refrain from publishing your research articles in the following journals:

  • Higher Education Commission, Pakistan is making efforts to promote quality research culture in the universities through different initiatives. It has been, however, noticed that some faculty members, researchers and students are publishing their research papers in low quality and predatory journals. The lists of such journals and their publishers have been developed and are being maintained by Mr. Jeffrey Beall, librarian at Auraria Library, University of Colorado Denver.   • Mr Beall has compiled these lists of questionable, scholarly open-access, stand-alone journals and publishers on the basis of following two documents published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), :
  1. Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers
  2. Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing
  • The criteria for the above mentioned lists have been reviewed by the experts and on the basis of their opinion, it is suggested that faculty members, researchers and students be advised to refrain from publishing in these low quality and substandard journals which are not  recognized by the HEC. Further, the ORICs, Directorates of Research and / or QECs of the universities should apprise the faculty members, researchers and students about the national and international journals of good standing and recognized by the HEC in which they should publish their research work.
