In continuation to the Orientation session regarding Self-Assessment Report held on 11th January 2018 for National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) programs held at NUMS’ Secretariat, another orientation session was held on 1st February 2018 at College of Nursing, Armed Forces Post-Graduate Medical Institute (AFPGMI) exclusively for Nursing Faculty.
The objective of Self-Assessment is to maintain and continuously enhance academic standards, augment students’ learning, and verify that the existing programmes meet their ascertained learning outcomes, objectives and institutional goals; provide feedback for Quality Assurance (QA) of academic programmes and prepare the academic programmes for review by the relevant Academic and Accreditation Councils.
In this regard, the purpose of the session was to brief the Nursing Faculty about the criteria and process of Self-Assessment for their respective programmes. Through this interactive session, the Nursing Faculty had an opportunity to share and discuss their point of view on Self-Evaluation and later improvement of Nursing Programmes with University representatives for QA/QEC NUMS in the presence of the Director Armed Forces Nursing Services and Chief Nursing Instructor Brig. Nighat Moazzam.
Director QA/QEC, Ms Noor Amna Malik, highly commended the efforts of the Nursing services towards the community at large and thanked CNI for inviting her over to the College of Nursing to give an open talk to Nursing Instructors on the continuous process of generating semester wise Self-Assessment Reports and how to internalize Quality in their respective academic domains.
The wonderful session ended with exchange of contact details between NUMS QEC and Nursing Faculty for future support rand interaction that reflected mutual commitment towards continuous professional development and quality improvement.
