After the successful conduct of 4 NEB examination cycles during 2017, 2018 and 2019, the Step II of the second cycle for 2019 was held onSunday, December 29, 2019 at Pak China Friendship Centre Islamabad.The preceding day, i.e. Saturday, December 28, 2019 was utilized to make necessary administrative arrangements at the venues. Through efficient coordination with Federal support services, immaculate administrative arrangements like 1122, fire tender, traffic and area police services and extensive security elements including dog sniffing were deployed for the smooth conduct of the event.

The exam was conducted in 2 sessions i.e. Paper 1 and 2 of 3-hour duration each with 150 and 100 MCQs for medical and dental graduates, respectivelyin each segment. An intervening break of 90 minutes was observed for prayer and lunch to the candidates and staff. A total of 1359 candidates; 1355 medical and 04 dental graduates, appeared in the exam. A feedback proforma was given to each candidateto have their candid opinion for the improvement of the system.

Pro-Vice Chancellor and Controller of Examinations NUMS monitored various professional and administrative arrangements through a number of committees overseeing specific tasks. In all, 48 administrative personnel and 90 superintendent /deputy superintendent and invigilation staff participated towards the conduct of the event. Diverse faculty and HPE experts participated in the moderation process in accordance with stipulated Table of Specifications. Stringent security measures were undertaken by developing four color coded question bookletsunder round the clock direct supervision of the senior officials of the Examination Directorate NUMS. The result was prepared through immaculate cross validation mechanism over the sophisticated equipment.

Pro-Vice Chancellor NUMS Maj Gen Professor Muhammad Aslam, HI (M) (Retd) and officials of Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) visited the examination venue who was briefed by Controller of Examinations NUMS Brig Muhammad Saifullah Butt (Retd) on the examination arrangements.
