Dean’s Message

NUMS is a place where we will strive to meet the aspirations of nurses and midwives to advance themselves and their professions.

Pakistan needs competent nurses and midwives more than ever, and indeed move that both professions beyond competence to demonstrating excellence in the services they can provide. As our organogram demonstrates it will begin with education by providing proactive, futuristic academic leadership with nurses and midwives leading change and innovation in education. It is exciting!!!

The report of one nation and one vision stated clearly that Pakistan needs competent nurses and midwives who maintain their competencies continuously. Inshallah, we will be at the forefront of this by starting clinical based Master programs and Doctorate in future years.

We will be providing an enabling environment for research and the application of new methods in teaching and learning, and promoting new practice models for nursing and midwifery in Pakistan. We will ensure that our programs and their implementation will be learner centered, innovative and focused meeting our country’s needs, and our graduates are world class practitioners of nursing and midwifery.
