NUMS Quality Assurance Directorate held the second Seminar on July 24th, 2017 at Professional Development Centre, NUMS Secretariat, focused on appraisal of progress made towards first HEC Quality Assurance Inspection/ Assessment team forthcoming visit to the NUMS Secretariat.
The Seminar participants representing all the Directorates, the Constituent and Affiliated Colleges, and the Armed Forces Specialty Institutes were briefed about the latest HEC directives of Quality Assurance, and its pivotal role in the overall ranking of the University at national level.
Ms Noor Amna Malik, Director QA emphasized the collaborative nature of the Seminar with a focus on preparing the Self-Assessment Report and the information required for the Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) Report. These two inputs will constitute the University Portfolio Report (UPR), the main document for inspection by the HEC-QAA team.
Pro VC NUMS Maj Gen Muhammad Aslam (Retd) TI (M), in his keynote address accentuated the “Role of University in Accreditation, Quality Education & Standards”. An active discussion took place where queries of QA representatives from all NUMS’ Colleges and Institutes, on compilation and verification of data were addressed by Provost QA, HR, & RD, Prof Dr Syed Mahmood Raza.
The success response of the seminar was more than 85% and the partakers were encouraged to fill in the information gap between Academic Program and Institutional Performance Evaluation for achieving the desired objectives.
In his address, Vice Chancellor NUMS, Lt Gen Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed HI (M) highlighted the key attributes to bring NUMS among the top ranking universities of the world with the stress upon teamwork, quality culture, professional development of the faculty, students’ involvement in QA, exceeding excellence in academic programs and performance of the institutes.
