Army Medical College has a state-of-the-art and modern academic library, serving a large number of undergraduates, postgraduates and faculty members. The library is air conditioned and spacious, spreading over 10,000 sq feet with a seating capacity for more than 150 readers and provides the latest medical books and journals to its members.
This Library provides a “gateway” for the students and researchers to access various resources in a research oriented environment with a well stocked and up-to-date reference section and online information services. It has a collection of over 24000 books, 570 CDs, 270 video cassettes, 22 personal computers and receives 50 foreign / local medical journals of repute. World Health Organization’s (WHO) publications are also available in the library. It also has an access to the HEC Digital library that provides full text access to 35000 journals and 45000 books.
The AM College library contains an in-depth collection of high value research material on more than one subject. Besides medical literature, a substantial number of books on General Knowledge, Sociology, Psychology, Religion and Fiction are also available. This library is managed by a team of dedicated, qualified and experienced staff, committed to providing quality service to the members. The AM College Library also stands out with a distinct honor, as its Librarian and Literature Search Officer, Mr Midrar Ullah is the first medical librarian from Pakistan to have received the “Cunningham Memorial International Fellowship Award 2012” of the Medical Library Association (MLA), USA. This fellowship is awarded to (outstanding medical librarians) outside USA and Canada.
