CAREERS

Dean’s Message

Brig Mohammad Ashraf (R)

When I came to Army Veterinary School some 30 years ago, I had little idea that I was setting out on an extra ordinary career in Veterinary Medicine that would challenge and inspire me throughout my working life. Now that I lead the Faculty, I can look back on my own student days and see clearly what has changed and what has stayed the same in Veterinary Sciences.

The Army Veterinary School that I joined at a very early stage of my service was a single campus functioning to impart training to the Remount Veterinary and farms Corps officers and other ranks. Now after putting 28 years of my services to the corps, I’m pleased and feel proud for the institution from where I had started my career has now grown up and up graded to Army College of Veterinary Sciences.

The Institution is the only one of its kind that will bridge the research gaps between human and veterinary medicine while working in coordination with the Army Medical colleges under the umbrella of National University of Medical Sciences. The facilities available on the site are some of the world’s best.

No wonder, Army College of Veterinary Sciences is going to have such a particular impact on local, regional, national and international human and veterinary medicine. Indeed, the passion and pioneering spirit I find here are very much in evidence, and I believe firmly that there is no better place to start your career in veterinary medicine

I wish you every success and encourage you to give a very serious consideration to Army Veterinary College. It’s a decision you won’t regret.
